When should I arrive for OIS 2014?

You should arrive for OIS anytime between 12 noon on Sunday, August 17 and 12 noon on Monday, August 18th.  Housing will be available beginning Sunday night, August 17th.

When does OIS begin?

There will be activities for students beginning Sunday afternoon, August 17th, but the formal opening of the program will be early Monday afternoon.


Where will I stay during OIS?

You will be staying in a temporary room in Vanderbilt Hall on Old Campus Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights. On Wednesday morning, August 20th you will move to your permanent rooms.  OIS counselors will help you move your belongings.

OIS will provide all meals during the program, most of which will be in a Residential College dining hall.

Will there be activities for my parents?

There will be a few activities for family members Monday afternoon, August 18th and Tuesday morning, August 19th.  Your family will want to make other plans from Tuesday afternoon through the morning of Friday, August 22nd, when they may want to return to campus for freshman move-in.

What is the cost of the program?

If you are not on financial aid, your Yale student account will be billed $200 automatically at the end of the program.

How do I get to New Haven?

There are several options for traveling from JFK or other airports to New Haven.
